Camdon Construction

THE PROCESS

Pre-Construction Phase

Owning Vs. Leasing
  • Determine the feasibility of your project.
  • Weigh the advantages of owning versus leasing.
  • Our strategic alliance with local building developers enables us to provide you with lease back and build to suit options for your building.

Site Selection and Planning
Carefully choose a building site considering:
  • Location, access, and visibility.
  • Site development costs and soil conditions.
  • Zoning requirements and building restrictions.
  • Serviced or un-serviced land.
  • Utility installation costs.
  • Water supply for fire fighting.

Conceptual Design
During the Conceptual Design process, consideration is given to the following:
  • Owner/end user project requirements.
  • Development and building permit requirements.
  • Construction methods and material selection.
  • Construction costs.
  • Project schedule.
  • Creativity to imagine improved construction solutions.

Our in-house design capabilities offer:
  • Practical, affordable, and efficient designs.
  • 2d coloured elevations.
  • 3d capabilities making it easier to visualize your project.
  • Cost savings versus the traditional tender market.
  • Design options are provided quickly.

Conceptual Estimate
  • The Conceptual Design evolves in conjunction with costs, which are evaluated throughout the design process; this is known as 'Value Engineering'.
  • Material selection and design concepts are constantly evaluated for cost effectiveness during this stage of the process to ensure that cost effective and timely building solutions are realized right from the beginning of the project.
  • A maximum level of quality for the most effective cost to the Owner.
  • Our Timberline estimating system provides us with an extensive database of actual job costs from which we can develop a realistic assessment of your project costs.
  • Once the design is finalized and the scope of the project is defined, a conceptual construction budget can also be finalized.

Working Drawings and Contract Documents
  • Once the construction budget and conceptual design are approved, the next step in the process is to produce working or construction drawings.
  • We have built long-term relationships with independent Architectural and Engineering firms with a variety of experience and expertise.
  • Drawings are produced with input from Camdon so the drawings will accurately reflect the intent of the conceptual design and budget.
